The Koran Festival in Pogradec is a cultural and tourism event, first organized on September 14, 2024. This festival is dedicated to the koran fish, a rare and protected species found only in Lake Ohrid. As part of the event, several special activities were held, including: The release of young koran fish into the lake to support the reproduction of this valuable species. A local culinary fair, where restaurants and local chefs offered traditional dishes based on koran fish. Concerts and artistic performances featuring folk groups and well-known artists. The festival aims to become an annual tradition, helping to raise awareness about the protection of the lake’s biodiversity and promoting Pogradec’s cultural heritage.
