Sveti Naum

Just a short boat ride or drive from Pogradec across the border into North Macedonia, Sveti Naum is a magnificent monastery perched on a cliff overlooking Lake Ohrid. Founded in 905 AD, it is one of the oldest monasteries in the region. The grounds feature peacocks roaming freely, natural springs where you can see the lake being fed from underground, and a stunning church with medieval frescoes. A must-visit day trip for anyone staying in the Pogradec area.
