Only a few kilometres east of Pogradec, just before the border with North Macedonia, Tushemisht feels like a village built around water. Clear springs run beside stone houses, beneath small bridges, and through flower-filled courtyards before reaching the lake. The village can be reached easily by car, bicycle, or taxi and pairs naturally with a visit to neighbouring Drilon. Tushemisht is closely associated with beloved Albanian films and with the lakeside culture of the Pogradec region. A walk through its lanes reveals traditional homes, quiet channels, small beaches, and family-run restaurants serving local fish and regional dishes. The village remains lived-in rather than staged, which is a large part of its charm. Come for a slow lunch, a swim, or an evening walk as the light settles over the lake. Tushemisht offers an intimate alternative to the city waterfront and is one of the simplest ways to experience village life without travelling far from Pogradec.
